Hi, I’m just dropping a line to say that I won’t be buying Zeitgeist. As a long-time Smashing Pumpkins fan, (I’ve been a fan for about 7 years) I’m disappointed. I find it ridiculous that you are letting your record company release 4 differing versions of your new album. (only one has the title track?!) I know that the record industry is in decline, but this is insane. More importantly, it’s an abuse of a passionate, dedicated core audience. I know that bands don’t really get a say in how their label markets their LP, but surely you find this appalling? I’m a massive fan, but I don’t really have the cash to waste on 4 copies of the same record. This seems very much against the ethics of the original Smashing Pumpkins, (a band who released a double album and their last album for free.) I’m not buying Zeitgeist, and I’m sure you think I’ll just download it from somewhere, but I’m not going to. I’m washing my hands of this silly little vanity project. I’m sorry that you/the record labels have chosen to sully the name of a formerly fantastic band. I’ve spent years listening to Smashing Pumpkins records, they really meant the world to me. It’s a shame that I wont even get a chance to listen to the new one.

I am going to buy it for the cover art, Sheppard is one of my favorite artists
yeah, i was gonna do the same, but i'm just sooo pissed off with them atm.
the pumpkins were a bit before my day, but it always makes me sad when musicians abandon their beliefs and their fans.
and four different albums!
thats RIDICULOUS.
did i spell that properly?
anyway, you can't believe how much it means to me that my mogiversary fell on a punk rock tuesday! how damn awesome is that?!
anyway, it's been an intense, amazing year.
Thanks go out to the following people; Anna, Blair, The David Hyman (and the rest of the Mog team!), Auds, Dangerous Bree. as well as all my trusted moggers!
here are some top fives in celebration.
top five gigs of this year. 1. Pearl Jam (i cried!) 2. The Thermals 3. Freaks Union 4. Gallows 5. Jimmy Eat World
top five bands of all time ever. (i already posted my top ten, but a lot has changed in 7(?) months)
1. The Clash 2. Incubus 3. Bjork 4. Jimmy Eat World 5. Pearl Jam
It's been a crazy year, in which i've discovered a lot. and had many opportunities. most of which i've missed.
i missed the first UK Mog meet up (at the 02 wireless festival), which i'm completely gutted about.
also, after making this post, i got a myspace message from none other than Mark Avery from River City High, formally of Inquisition. he'd been shown my mog post and offered to get me on the guestlist for the inquisition reunion show. ho! lee! poo! unfortunately, i had to decline. Northern England to RVA is like crazy expensive. dang. that one still hurts.
erm, what else to say?
oh yeah! spurred on by Blair's life changing decision to run away and join the music circus, i too, intend to join the full time music blogging industry. i'm gonna try and make it as a music journalist. i'm not hopping on any bandwagons, just inspired! i'll let you know how that works out.
ok, finally, as part of my one year celebrations, i'm thinking of making a mixtape or something, something along the lines of Minor Threat covers or lots of different versions of 'Stepping Stone', when it's done i'll make some artwork and post it online for y'all. so, song suggestions or ideas for themes (if you think mine suck) would be great.
i should really add an image of a cupcake with a candle in or an mp3 of 'i am one' by Smashing Pumpkins, but i am lazy and tired. i also realise that i am now a day late. i wasn't when i started typing, but i got distracted. for three hours. sorry i talked for so long also.

Happy Mogiversary! How very cool.
I think the theme of your mix should be the absolute best songs you've discovered through mog. (That was my plan for my 1 yr. anniversary, but you've beat me to the punch, heh - so I offer that up to you.)
