I saw Catfish Haven at Union Hall in Brooklyn last night. They were great!! If you can't catch them on this tiny tour of the E. coast then at least give them a listen. (I would want them to be my wedding band, if I were to do something like that.) So sad that it was me and 14 other people seeing them, in New York, no less. It was a big weekend for music in NYC and it was a Sunday night AND the Fleet Foxes were playing a sold out show too. George Hunter, the singer/guitarist, has a great voice. Like he should be singing in a late 60s/early 70s soul band. His voice reminds me a bit of the singer from Blood Sweat & Tears, but it's only because I'm trying to compare him to anyone. The bassist, Miguel Castillo, is funky as all hell and the drummer, Ryan Farnham, broke his bass drum. C'mon, if that's not entertainment...

Nice. You gotta give us the heads up before the show. I'd love to see them.
They are playing Mercury Lounge on Thursday 10/9 (which is when I was going to go but have to work TOO early on Friday morn), if you're in the city. Here's their myspace with the other dates... http://myspace.com/catfishhaven
