I didn't buy the entire album for this song, but I bought this soundtrack instead of the first or third because of Gollum's song. It's haunting, her voice sounds just a little bit like Rickie Lee Jones, especially in "Someone To Watch Over Me". For those of you who purchased the LOTR soundtracks, which did you get and why?

Once upon a time, I bought all 3. I have to say that Gollum's Song was the best song, all because of her vocals. Thanks for jogging my memory...I need to get a CD of hers.
So why did I buy them? Probably because they're the best classical film score ever. Howard Shore put so much work into it - even working on extra score for the extended versions. Having Pippin sing in the 3rd movie was genius on Peter Jackson's part, and I'm a sucker for a good Irish song. And in the first one, I think it was Enya, but that last song was awesome.
Now why did I get rid of them?!!!???

LOVE her...Emiliana is solid gold in her collabs with Thievery Corporation as well.
As far as LOTR, I really enjoy "Concerning Hobbits" from The Fellowship soundtrack. Howard Shore is an incredible composer, and this one really stirs my Irish blood.
And Annie Lennox's "Into The West" over the credits of The Return Of The King is just plain beautiful. It didn't win an Oscar (Best Original Song) for nothing. When she gets to the "all of your fears will pass away...safe in my arms" section (about 1:10 in), it kills me.
