Today is banjo lesson #3. I'm pretty good at the rolls on "You Are My Sunshine." My instructor says: There's more filler in banjo than in a hotdog. He's been teaching since 1970.

Ken Bethea, my friend from the Old 97s, called to tell me they're in town ... we'll meet tonight at sound check, right after lesson #3. He laughed when I told him I'm taking lessons.
