MOG MOG

WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

I have to admit, of the solo Paul McCartney releases, I've never been too into McCartney II with the exception of "Coming Up". But recently "Temporary Secretary" came on the shuffle and my only response was to crank that junk and do the saddest enthusiasitc-white-boy dance you can imagine.

Allmusic of course berates the song, but frankly, it's genius. I mean, it wasn't quite ahead of its time (obvious Devo and Kraftwerk influence in there), but it was way ahead of the electronic curve.

Silly? Check.

Weird? Check.

Awesome? Double check.

Haven't heard this in years.  Goofy -- I'm with you -- just can't handle most McCartney solo stuff.  However, I still listen to Wings' LondonTown and Back to the Egg.

Funoka: McCartney solo can be hit or miss, but there are usually a few really great high points. Ram is still one of my favorite albums. I agree, Back to the Egg had several awesome songs too. Venus and Mars... WAY underrated.

I bought this on LP about fifteen years ago and it didn't really do that much for me.  But I have been jamming it lately and have grown quite fond of it.  I particularly like Secret Friend.  I am wondering how much weed you need to smoke to make some music like that.
