WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Quintessential Sounds, Still Relevant Today

OK, enough dribble about what's in my head - it's busy enough in there as it is. Lets talk about something deep down in the guts of things. I could sit here and rattle of a list of fantastic guitarists, any of whom would be deeply recognizeable with the young, the middle-aged, and even some of the old.But...I was talking to some of my son's contemporaries... said something about Jeff Beck, got "Jeff Beck? Who?".After retracting my jaw from the wooden slats on the floor, I thought about it for a second - and decided to take the non-curmudgeon approach (opting for the philosophical approach - the approach of discovery, not disdain). Said, "listen." Hands over iPod, plugs in some Jeff, young learner listens for a few seconds, then young learner smiles brightly.YES! The infection spreads again and some more. I love doing that.

  1. ennuikiller says Jeff Beck has my vote as far and away one of the most innovative rock-jazz-fusion-9you fill in the genre) guitarists who ever lived!! The man simply channels riffs, chords, scales, notes, and whatelse guitars are capable of producing.........there is truly no other like him!!!

  2. kat3260 says Ahhh Jeff Beck. More people need to remember his greatness. _Truth_ with Rod Stewart on vocals is one of my favorite albums of all time, and how can you deny the beauty of "Cause We've Ended As Lovers"/ I'm not sure how the cat pic fits in, but as a fellow tuxedo cat owner, awwww :O)
