I had a whole page written about how frustrating women can be, but then I saw this picture and decided that it was all drivel.
I mean, we all have our faults. Women think the same thing about men...maybe. Women are just more complex, and I love that about them. It's a challenge that never ends. And lets face it, women are simply gorgeous creatures.
I mean, Regina said it best...
"You are my greatest downfall."
Thats all.
(Oh, Katrina Kerns, if your dazzling eyes happen to fall kindly upon this MOG, just know this...I love you.)
I'm sure others have been noticing, but there has been a big influx of 80's songs that have been revamped for modern day audiences in multiple types of media.
I was watching TV the other day, and while I was waiting for The Office to come back from commercial, I see a commercial for a new game for the XBox 360, called Gears of War. It was an okay ad, but what I loved was the song used: Mad World, originally done by Tears for Fears and covered by Michael Andrews for the Donnie Darko soundtrack.
Then...in the movie theatre a couple days ago watching a surprisingly good movie, Stranger Than Fiction, with Will Ferrell and the delicious Maggie Gyllenhaal. Harold crick begins to play a classic 80's one-hit-wonder by the under appreciated Wreckless Eric, Whole Wide World. It was great! I might add that Ms. Gyllenhaal liked it as well!
I really enjoy this whole "movement", if you will, because the songs covered aren't the ones you would expect. Sure, you could see someone eventually doing a cover of Come On Eileen, or Blitzkrieg Bop, but who thinks Against All Odds, by Phil Collins, like Postal Service did? Well, to be honest...plenty did. Mariah Carey, Montell Jordan, and about ten others, but Postal Service really did it justice.
I can't wait till somebody wises up and covers Journey's, Wheel In the Sky...it'll be HUGE!!!

Hello world. This is my first attempt at journaling. Let me start by saying that this blog, journal, whatever you wanna call it will not be a major work of American literature. I see this as a vehicle to write my occasional ramblings. So if you’re here for a good laugh, something insightful, or silently stalking me...you may be in the wrong place. If you enjoy it...please, enjoy it responsibly.
Hugs, J Bragg

I don't think we're any more complicated than men... just complicated in different ways. :)
that's a great song. ah, the simple complexity of love. i agree with ^, we're all complex when you take a closer look.
