Here's a re-cap of sorts: Musically, I have recently discovered the SF-based band Girls, which is great. And Jose Gonzalez! Also the songs Converging in the Quiet by Crystal Stilts and Casually Sad Mercedes by Calypso have been consistently making me happy for months. On my list of CDs to buy (yes they still make CDs! Really!)? The new-ish Phoenix (I know, I'm late - whatever), the also new-ish Camera Obscura, Big Pink, Crystal Stilts, and I need to own a physical copy of "The Velvet Underground & Nico", which I only just realized was missing from my life. Also, I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to upcoming shows in the Houston area - Warpaint, Big Pink, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dead Weather, Camera Obscura, Free Press Summer Fest feat. Flaming Lips, and tons more that I can't remember right now. Since my last login, my old band .belville has split up, and I am now playing with the Watermarks. Keys now, instead of bass. OH YEAH, and a new full-length was released recently by The Sky Drops, called Burgoise Beat. Really quality stuff. Hmm what else... I think I may have missed my chance to see New Zealand-based group Die! Die! Die! which makes me sad, but which also gives me a reason to go to New Zealand... So that does not come anywhere CLOSE to covering it all, but enough about me - what's new with YOU?
