MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:

We've got a foot of new snow and more on the way tomorrow...so all plans for getting out of the house are, once again, on hold. (We were all going to go down to Northampton for First Night, but that seems unlikely now.)

But still, it's a new year, so let's not sink completely under gloom and boredom. Here's the title track from Oneida's Happy New Year and a wish for a peaceful, happy 2008 for everyone.

Oh, sorry, forgot I'm not allowed to upload anything over a minute via dial-up...and Rhapsody has apparently never heard of Oneida.

Looks like 2008 is going to be just as fucked as 2007. Cheers.

Mark, did you go to school around here? (Lots of people do, though you don't seem like a Smithie...) Northampton is, indeed, a great town. I wish we were going there tonight.

and keith, I hope you do win the lottery...but don't spend it all on whiskey!

And thanks John and Blair. Hope you all get what you're looking for in 2008, whatever it is.

Not a Smithie (Wesleyan actually) I grew up in Hartford and Northamton was the best town to hang out in within driving distance. Also my mom went to high school there so my roots are New England...well at least the first 25 years...now I live in Texas as a Yankee (for 12 years) and I am snow, slush and dead cold car engine free

Thanks dachmo...you're the best!

And Mark, yes, Northampton is a very cool town, especially for its size which is small. I really like going to shows there, because there's very little hipster attitude (unlike Boston, which gets more and bigger bands), it's close, it's cheap and you can park all night for about $3. And and Veracruzana...they have really good plantains.

But i think Austin would be pretty fun, too, except when it got really hot.

i'm gonna buy an island we all are gonna live there and the only mass production facility with be a whiskey distillery we shall export and there shall be a venue for bands 7 nights a week! yeah THATS the ticket

Jenny, we trust you so much, that if you can't upload the songs, we go find them ourselves, so it's no biggie. Just drop the names on us.

Have a happy New Year!

David, you are so sweet :)
