I am not reviewing the new Kinski album Down Below It's Chaos anywhere, a day late, dollar short, you know the drill...but god-damn, it is a thing of beauty. Kinski (yes, named after Werner Herzog's nemesis, the crazy, brilliant actor) is a four-piece, heavy on the guitars, masterful with the feedback. They are sort of an avant garde band, sort of a straight up rock band and, just as a warning, loud as all fuck live. They've toured with pretty much all my favorite bands, Oneida, Mission of Burma, Acid Mothers Temple, etc. etc. and they've done three-four Terrastocks, which is always a good sign. If you live on the West Coast, you may be able to check them out at one of these dates (bring earplugs):· Wednesday, September 12, 2007 Echo, Los Angeles CA· Thursday, September 13, 2007 Casbah, San Diego CAopening for Helmet · Friday, September 14, 2007 Amoeba Music (SF), San Francisco CaliforniaFREE in-store performance at 6:00 pm! · Friday, September 14, 2007 Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco CA· Saturday, September 15, 2007 Off Limits, Chico CA· Thursday, September 27, 2007 Crocodile Cafe, Seattle WASeattle record release show for Down Below It's Chaos!
