He was a pimp back in the day and even had his own Cable TV show called Darondo's playhouse. Anyway, he was a fantastic singer, but never took it too seriously so let it slide. Some said he could have been as big as James Brown. Anyway, a few years ago someone stumbled across some rough recordings by him and loved them. They managed to track him down and get him back in the studio. He was reluctant at first, but eventually agreed.
Backing vocals were provided by Bing Ji Ling and the LP came out in 2006 on Ubiquity Records. My vinyl copy is still sealed in the original plastic! Such a great album though. "Didn't I" sends shivers down my spine.
I have no idea who this dancing clown is though.
