David Allan Coe's "18 X-Rated Hits" is the clearest glimpse into the American underbelly in the history of recorded music. I first heard songs from this record when a chain-smoking uncle pulled me aside and said, "hey boy, you gotta hear this."
I thought I would never see a song from that album actually surface in mainstream American culture until "Don't Bite the Dick" made it into episode 2 of "Weeds" on Showtime (see http://www.sho.com/site/weeds/music.do#102).
I wouldn't say that this is a "fun" album, but if you want to understand Southern white trash in all of its mean (but still somewhat clever) glory, this record is for you!

My Trusted MOGs
Does it have the "lap dance is so much better when the stripper is crying" song?

I like Ween's Greatest Country and Western Hits too. The fact they got the Jordanairs -- the backup singers on all those great Conway Twitty, George Jones, etc. albums --to do back up is awesome. C'mon Piss up a Rope! love it.

That Ween album is pure genius. Help me scrape the mucus off my brain.
