Well, I'm still on my Rickie Lee Jones kick. The Sermon on Exposition Boulevard simply won't let me be. (I forced myself to take a break last night to listen to The Nields' "Ash Wednesday" and a few other mellow songs. But I'm right back to it today.)
Tonight, Jones is playing in St. Paul, Minnesota. A few hours from me. But I'm not going to be there. I really wish I were. I just hope to catch her in concert at another time.
But the upside is that Minnesota Public Radio did an hour long interview/call-in show with her this morning. And the whole thing is now avaiable for your listening pleasure on line. Here's the link:
Midmorning interview with Rickie Lee Jones
She spends a fair amount of time recapping the story surrounding the new album. But she also talks about other things. It was a wonderful hour. Well worth your time. And if you were still on the fence about the new album, this is a chance to hear a few of the tracks, plus commentary, for free!
