I've been LOVING Common recently. And this song in particular has really struck a chord with me. I mean, live music in general is a HUGE part of why all of us are even here on MOG, but when good rap and hip hop can be translated to a live medium with emotion and a message to boot, well, that's the balls, to put it bluntly.

LOVE Common - thanks for sharing that video! Totally agree with your thoughts on live hip-hop. When it's good, it's great. I got to see the Roots on Monday night, and was just blown away with their level of musicianship and breadth of musical knowledge. Three piece horn section, James Brown soul review, and Masters of War and Roxanne covers. I said to my friend on the way out that the Roots are my new favorite jam band.
