When Pearl Jam roll into Great Woods and start off the night with a song that has been rarely played in the band's storied career, you know that you've been invited to, well, not so much a 'concert' but an event.
NOT an inferior youtube video:
"Wash", set opener 6/30/08 (from 'Lost Dogs')
and then, after a stellar set, we're treated to another nugget. Eddie and Jeff Ament perform a rare track, played just seven times prior.
"Bee Girl" Encore 1 opener, 6/30/08 (from 'Lost Dogs')
You know time is long, and life is short.
Begin to live while you still can.
Believe in nothing, believe me,
Those who can be trusted can change their mind.
When the anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time.
Everything you imagine needn't be stuck in your mind.
Bee Girl, be a girl.
Bee Girl, be a girl.
...and of course no PJ show would be complete without:
(I'd click the link to youtube and watch this in their 'higher quality' mode)
'Alive' 6/30/08
As a bit of a music snob, I'm not supposed to subscribe to such music..... but I respond to this thought with a big..."Fuck That!". Amazing event, amazing music. I'll be riding a cloud of ear-ringing ecstasy for a couple more weeks....

no links in the posts, they're just for "emPHASis"...
the boots will be out there... in three weeks.
This was my 5th PJ show, and it just doesn't get old. It won't either....I'll be eighty and Vedder will be playing in the nursing home next door to me and I'll STILL make the day trip next door to see him.

Sweet! I'm still "riding a cloud of ear-ringing ecstasy" myself. Though we didn't get Wash or Bee Girl which would've been perfect! Lucky dog. Thanks for sharing the vid's here at least!

my pleasure....it sounded like you had an amazing time though!!! My first PJ show was just 4 years ago, and I think I can relate it to a religious experience...very similar to how you felt!!! I remember those very same reactions!

I seriously couldn't be more thrilled for you kid... maybe a little jealous - but YOU WILL COME TO SEE MMJ with me in Sept & you WILL SEE PJ with me the next time they're either in your neck of the Great Woods, or mine - I understand the lads are quite fond of Philly & put on a hella good set of shows !!!
