Avett Brothers - Emotionalism [2007]
It happened on the second listen. I realized that at some point, I was really going to like this album. And that instance came sooner than I thought. Now, the deeper and deeper I get into it, the more I enjoy [actually ENJOY] sitting back and listening to _Emotionalism_. I gotta admit, it's kinda strange music, but strange in a familiar, comfortable way [chucky says "Nope. I don't do strange"]
I think the vocals remind me of Jeff Magnum's (Neutral Milk Hotel), and alot like a ton of great local musicians I've been seeing here in Prov a lot (fancy trash, barn burning, the wrong reasons).
Check these guys out. they're on tour (and are a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED LIVE ACT apparently)

A couple of weeks back Dave Allen of Pamplemoose.com dropped an article on his website as well as mog about these guys and after listening to just 2 songs I knew I had to buy the album which I did and it is great.

very nice, i will look for them live. that is too glowing a review by the chronicle......but the chronicle sucks, so i discount a little( as i gleefully go outside now for the sunday NY times instead of that damn chronicle)
