WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Note to Self : Listen to more Dr. Dog, brother

Posted about 1 year ago

Dear Self,

Are you getting a little slow in your old age, you old bastard? Can't figure out what selection to play next. Let me make the decision for you. Listen to Dr. Dog more, dude.... Like when you're sitting in the car, spinning through the menu on your Ipod..... just spin it to the D section. you know, past DeVotchka, past Dinosaur JR, and a little bit after Do Make Say Think... hey, watch the road, cowboy. Wait, Dresden Dolls? too far there, chubby-fingers. back up. Dr. Dog. There it is. It's all you need.

Sincerely,

You.

Ha!  A great point you made to yourself!

Is it just me or does Scott McMicken sound a little like Conor Oberst in this 100 years tune.  Only certain parts, (and which is good my book...) I'm lovin' Fate.

I can totally see that.  but to me, it's more of the inflection of Oberst than the actual sound.  I can't help hearing Rick Danko from The Band in the sound though.

good review. Yes, they are influenced by The Band and played with Levon Helm last year in Phliiy and at Mt. Jam...and keep contact with him.
