Rest In Peace Vic Chesnutt

Track:
According to media reports, Athens, GA singer/songwriter Vic Chestnutt has died.
My favorite track by Vic was a cover he did of the Daniel Johnston track "Like A Monkey In The Zoo". And on this cold December day, the track serves as a sad and tragic forshadow to a life cut too short.

From the Constellation Records website :
Surrounded by family and friends, Vic Chesnutt died in Athens Georgia this afternoon, Friday 25 December at 14:59.
In the few short years that we knew him personally, Vic transformed our sense of what true character, grace and determination are all about. Our grief is inexpressible and Vic's absence unfathomable.
We will make more information available according to the wishes of Vic's family and friends.

This is sad news indeed.
I saw him open for Bob Mould back in the early '90s in Portland, OR. I wasn't that into him but I could see the talent for songwriting/storytelling he had.
p.s. Liking this track quite a bit. Very sad news, may he RIP.
I first heard it via Stomp and Stammer (Athens and Atlanta music mag). Here's some more details:

Sad tidings on this Yuletide... Vic is aptly remembered here.
Frohes Fest
Cripes, and I just heard his music for the first time (though I'd been hearing about him for some years) a week or so ago, when he did a rather incredible interview on public radio. And man, those songs and that voice just rip a hole in you. This is a sad event indeed....
