Lots and lots of ringing going on in there...note to self: TURN DOWN THE AKRON/FAMILY

I'm not much in the mindset for a full review...so, long story short. I've always ignored Akron/Family. For no reason, other than I've got SOOOO much to listen to, sometimes a good album gets passed over. Not so much ignored, but glanced at, and forgotten.

Their new album, Set 'em Wild, Set 'em Free, though, has been some of the best music I've found on emusic recently. Does it remind me of Of Montreal? A little. Does it remind me of Animal Collective? I guess a smidge. Last.fm's recommendation would tell me so, but I don't see it so much.

first track on the album is a frenetic, funked-out gem called 'Everyone Is Guilty', and it blossoms into a full-out homage to Stevie's 'Higher Ground'. Check it out.
