Oh, What a Night!!

I have been gone for quite a while, and I still plan to post something related to my trip and in honor of my son. However, I at least have to mention RIGHT NOW that Friday, June 19 was a mind blowing, life affirming, foot stomping, heart thumping experience.
Steely Dan played at a wonderful venue in Orange Beach called The Wharf Amphitheater (see my friend Joey's post, which includes the setlist). They were truly amazing. Becker and Fagen were tight as hell, as were their accompanying musicians and background singers. Our party literally begged for more (they did not play Reelin in the Years, FM, or Babylon Sisters, for example), but with their discography, and number of "big hits", who could expect them to cover it all?
We didn't, we just hoped. ;)
And, after much screaming and foot stomping, the crowd was rewarded with Kid Charlemagne, Do it Again, and My Old School. Oh Yes!! It was a beautiful night.
As of now, they are only playing 30 cities for this show. My advice? Um, go.

If their live performance is anywhere near their recorded work it has to be fantastic. Nice to hear that it was a great experience.
They are soooo talented. I bet that show really took you back.

dchris- yes! Well, they may still add Philly, too, --I was surprised at how many bigger cities were not included (yet)!
Ms Jagger hit it right on the head, and like she said, I was standing (well dancing my ass off : - ) right next to her...and what a blast we had. If any of you are anywhere near any of their upcoming venues... GO!
Might be the last time any of us ever get a chance!!!

I caught them a year or so back over here in NZ, not much of a stage show but they were so dam awesome it didnt matter, note for note reproduction of most of the stuff, amaizing skills
