David Hyman requested more Brazilians, and I am more than happy to comply. This is a classic moment from a late Sixties TV show. Doesn't give you much of a sense of what a dynamic, caressing voice Gal Costa has, but it does perfectly pinpoint a very special place and time. I think there might be one or two Mutantes in the backup band.

ye-ye girl says wow! Thanks for posting that. I'm listening to Jorge Ben right now actually... I've been revisiting my tropicalia albums lately- that whole musicical movement is really intriguing to me. I can't wait for the Os Mutantes documentary to come out- (it hasn't yet, right?)

Bawston Sean says Do you have copy of the Som Imbruglio (sp?) CD? We had a copy at the store, but i forgot to rip it before it sold. Tropicalia is definitely the new/old hotness.

ivylander says No, man, but I read about it in a recent post (didn't I?) and made a mental note to track it down. If you get another copy in, PLEASE let me know. ye-ye girl, I vaguely recall reading something about a Mutantes movie, but that was some time ago. I'll stay on the lookout if you will.

Bawston Sean says Rumor has it the Mutantes doc is doing the festival circuit this year...but that's only a rumor as far as I know. I'll be on the look out for the Som CD, I think my boss has a sopy.
