As dermahrk revealed to the world in a MOG exclusive yesterday, he and I have formed a band. (By the way, it took MOG for us to learn of the other person's existence, despite living five minutes away from each other and having missed each other by a matter of months from the same department at the University of Iowa.) Here is the first of my compositions with a complete home demo. It's the first song I wrote after a hiatus of roughly 30 years. I've written better since, I think, but am not embarrassed by this for starters. And despite Mark's heroic efforts with a primitive drum machine, it does sound rather better with a real drummer....

Anyway, enough apologies. Hope you enjoy.....

Bravo!  Most excellent song, with great guitar fills and solos.  The verses and bridge go well together, the lyrics are solid.  You've done even better since?  I look forward to more Consenting Adults.

Ok, I'm back.  I hear a fine jangle-rock gem here, in a very rough mix.  A lttle buffing & polishing...who knows?

Have you guys figured out a tour schedule yet?

Are you going to give us the glorious details of the band's debauched life on the road?

I won't go ahead and hate it because I absolutely like it. Bravo Bill. I second John's notion: we want to know all about the Consenting Adults and their debauchery.

OK, so it's over a year-long-old post--but I had never clicked on your profile before.  U of I--you're in the fold!  Great lyrics, my husband always asks me on our anniversay, "so you wanna' try another year?"

Yes, ma'am. I remain a Hawkeye in my soul (Mark even more so - he still has family in Iowa City.) We just played this song today with the guy who may end up as our new drummer. As many times as we've played it by now, it felt like a trip back to the old neighborhood. You should hear it with a real band behind it....

I wear the black and gold...I'd be run outta town if I didn't! Very good, if you ever head back into Iowa City to play, I'll be sure to stop in the joint.
