A grind of a week, fellow MOGgers. Barely articulate at this point. A dose of Thee Funk badly needed. This does it for me, and I hope for you as well....

Let the party begin!
Now that you are here, my friend, it has begun!
That does look like a ball, Kevin. And Carlinhos is just the artist to keep it rolling.
sounds good to me, some funk and a nice drink would do this teacher well
nice and chill funk. like funk on ice. i dig.
My week too. I am too exhausted to think.
Dude, my 10 days of Musikfest has just begun.
Saw Philly Funk Authority tonight and here you put up a tune to keep me jamming. Sweet.
I will go to sleep with a smile on my mug tonight.
never a chillier funk ball than this one ... perfect for the silent and gray saturday afternoon i am having. thanks, Mr. Ivy! (:
Funk? Kinda poppy to my ears. Which of course, to me, is a GOOD thing. I never know where your little red buttons are going to take me - to some carnival in Rio or some grass hut on the veldt, but this went to a familiar place.
You know, of course, that your Mogging seems to reflect your travel industry background to a T.
Like his name, it starts out in Portuguese and ends up in English. I like how the drums are in the foreground but don't hog our attention. Both my rating thumbs are up. Enjoy an unbusy week-end in Ivyland.
Rawk, how did you find the picture of my cousin? It almost feels like Bartleby's back....
Michael, Carlinhos does know how to work a groove.
Molli, "funk on ice" - perfect way to describe it....
Oat, I'm speaking in complete sentences today, and hope you are too...
Chris, wo ist das Musikfest? Any polka bands?
poe, always glad to brighten a grim day with some Technicolor funk.
DMK, funk and pop can live in the same house, yes? Hmmm, maybe my musical predilections are my way of compensating for the fact that I'm not in the travel dodge anymore....
Spike, are you back from your travels or stealing precious time from your family by posting from a hotel business center somewhere? (Which is what I tried to do a couple of months ago, with limited success.) Carlinhos's stage name reflects his worship of James Brown. You're right, he does work both languages pretty well....
Back. But while away, a family member said to me, "Admit it: you were blogging, right?"
Nice music, have a participation the great Marisa Monte, have a good week...
I'm a bit late, but with Carlinhos Brown, you can't go wrong! I first found out about him through the soundtrack to a very risque brazilian film, Cidade Baixa. His compositions are intense. Here's a favorite you may enjoy (unfortunately without track listing)

Spike, were you?
jersondread, it's great to see you back here! Knew you would like this one. And yes, Marisa Monte is a miracle....
belle, I'm having a little trouble getting this to play - it's my rickety computer, no doubt. Good to have another Carlinhos aficionado on board....
I had to at least check to see if anyone had MOG-mailed me to say, "You rawk!"
So you got my note, then....
And a wondrous one it was, I think....No wait----I'm not sure.
