WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Honorable Mentions

Mirah- The Joyride RemixesReally interesting remixes. I don't even own the original "Joyride," but bought this on LP for the Phil Elverum remix. Stunning shit.Karl Blau- Beneath WavesCut of Choice: Into the NadaHe's an interesting musician. This record is uneven and sometimes I don't really like his voice. Still, good enough for an honorable mention.Reich: Remixed 2006-Features remixes of Proverb, Drumming and Music for 18 Musicians, done by Alex Smoke, Four Tet, and Ruoho Ruotsi respectively. Very good record. My recommendation (even though I despise iTunes) is that you purchase it there because you'll get "Come Out," for free as a bonus for being so tech savvy. The LP has no such bonus, to my chagrin (I didn't know when I bought it, was thinking it was going to be there, and was gravely disappointed.). There's only so much you can fit on an analog plastic disc.More to come as what sticks out in my mind from this year a little less starts to come to me.
