She had so much heart and passion and you can really hear it in this track. Nice find!
I like how this sounds as if it was the first time that the group publicly performed its biggest hit. I guess they hadn't recorded yet either. It has a more sledgehammer intensity that Erma Franklin's original.

So you know the feeling. But that's nothing compared to the feeling I have that I fail to respond to so many of my favorite Trusteds' great posts, so here I am picking some random month long ago in hopes that the surprise element will comfort the recipient a bit more than otherwise. what amazes me more, is that you remember it, considering the plethora of "recreational" mind altering substances ingested at those shows. :-) (from what I'm led to believe) ;-D
Oh, don't get me wrong~ there are a lot of the 1960's I don't recall.. ha ha
But, anyone that knew Janis would have a tough time NOT remembering her and the good (and bad) times. I was lucky enough to be a friend from when she lived in the Haight Ashbury, to Noe Valley and on to Marin.
Wish she were still around~
