Warren Zevon

Posted almost 4 years ago

This song was recorded during a live acoustic set with Jackson Browne in 1976. Though made famous by Linda Ronstadt's cover, something about Warren's vocal really touches me.

Perhaps because you sense he is tapping into the emotional well from whence the song sprung.

It's a beautiful song. The title alone is pure poetry. Thanks.

The man wrote so many good songs.  His catalog is a roadmap through broken & battered hearts of the world.  With his vicious wit and self-lacerating humor he explored the mysterious dark world where tragedy and comedy dance to the pulse of the beating heart.  He was capable of incredible sensitivity and brutal honesty as his songs chronicled the simple highs & fathomless lows of life on the fringes.

Folks who only know his few "hits", or who know his songs from the covers would do well to explore **Warren Zevon's** incredible canon.

Very nice- it's a shame we lost him so early.
