MUSIC CHATTER AND MATTER

We all have further to fly

Posted about 1 year ago
There may come a timeWhen youll be tiredAs tired as a dream that wants to dieAnd further to flyFurther to flyFurther to flyFurther to flyMaybe you will find a loveThat you discover accidentallyWho falls against you gentlyAs a pickpocketBrushes your thighFurther to flyEffortless music from the cameroonsThe spinning darkness of her hairA conversation in a crowded room going nowhereThe open palm of desireWants everythingIt wants everythingIt wants everythingSometimes Ill be walking downThe street and Ill be thinkingAm I crazyOr is this some morbid little lieFurther to flyFurther to flyFurther to flyA recent loss of memoryA shadow in the familyThe baby waves bye-byeIm trying, Im flyingThere may come a timeWhen I will lose youLose you as I lose my lightDays falling backward into velvet nightThe open palm of desireWants everythingIt wants everythingIt wants soil as soft as summerAnd the strength to push like springA broken laugh a broken feverTake it up with the great deceiverWho looks you in the eyeAnd says baby dont cryFurther to flyThere may come a timeWhen I will lose youLose you as I lose my sightDays falling backward into velvet nightThe open palm of desireThe rose of jerichoSoil as soft as summerThe strength to let you go

  1. runobodyii says This is wicked awesome, as they used to say in Boston. I love the rhythms and the melody that's hard to pin down, something vaguely Middle Eastern (Spain? Morocco?) And then there's the amazing lyrics: The open palm of desire Wants everything It wants everything It wants soil as soft as summer And the strength to push like spring and then the stunning variation: The open palm of desire The rose of jericho Soil as soft as summer The strength to let you go I'm on my thrid listen.
