Myracle Brah
-
Artist:

Can anyone take your music seriously with a name like that? Andy Bopp, the mastermind behind this group of ever changing personnel, even claims the y in Myracle is a nod to the Byrds. OK
So, what do we have? Pop. Serviceable and at time very good Pop. Absolutely worth a listen or two.
From the "Sources"
The 1999 and second album by this power pop band, fronted by Andy Bopp from Love Nut. Recorded in mono, this striking second album will appeal to fans of the Posies, Raspberries, Beatles, Teenage Fanclub and so many others.
Myracle Brah is the solo power pop project of singer, guitarist, and songwriter Andy Bopp, who also fronts Love Nut. Often compared to such past power pop masters as Badfinger, the Raspberries, and the Beatles (Bopp's singing voice is eerily similar to John Lennon's at times), Myracle Brah originally began as a mere side project, before eventually becoming Bopp's main focus. In addition to Bopp, Myracle Brah consists of Paul Krysiak (bass, piano, vocals), Marty Canelli (organ), and a pair of drummers, Joe Parsons and Greg Schroeder. Signed to the Not Lame label, the group issued three albums in as many years: 1998's Life on Planet Earthshop, 1999's Plate Spinner, and 2000's self-titled release. 2002 saw the release of a 14-song compilation, Super Automatic, which collected the best tracks from Myracle Brah's previous releases. Myracle Brah continued to record, releasing Treblemaker in 2003 and Can You Hear the Myracle Brah? in 2007. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide

Cool! Maybe "Brah" is also partly a nod to "Obl di obla da"
IMO the first song was a bit boring, but I really liked the others---especially the 3rd one...love the lyrics and the drums. And the guitars!
Really good stuff.
can't forget those guitars!!!!
never.
Serviceable pop seems about right to me.
well, there ya go!
A regrettable moniker for sure. But if you can get past that the songs redeem the band(but not enough for me to seek them out. I just can't quite get behind a band named that, lol). Quite reminiscent of Matthew Sweet & Jellyfish I must say as well as The Posies, all of whom were heavily influenced by The Beatles.
I like it!
Huge fan of Andy here, who owns all the Brah releases. Personally, I like the name for the image it evokes in my twisted mind. But I like the music even more, especially Life on Planet Earthsnop (not Earthshop as stated above), though I have no idea what "Earthsnop" refers to...
Sounds like you got the deluxe mono masters huh? Still, I like this group.
