WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Shades of J.J.

Posted 3 months ago

If only because of his imitators-he's the man who gave Dire Straits their guitar sound, for example-J.J. Cale ought to have a higher profile than he does. Of course if he did, dusting off his old releases and giving them a spin wouldn't seem such a treat, now would it.

This tune is a perfect evocation of it's title.

It is strange the way lesser talents have gained more notoriety than J.J. I feel that is one of the things I like about Eric Clapton that he seems to sense whose who deserve a higher profile and shares the spotlight with them to try and showcase those talents.

Theres no doubt in my mind if JJ Cale had wanted the "limelight" the doors where open, He most likely had the brains to see what a mess many of his peers were in, Respect!

It's been a "rain/sun/rain" cycle today, without trade winds to stir things up. A perfect match for "Cloudy Day."
