WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Nine outstanding tracks recorded in 1991 with ace saxophonist Donald Harrison and his band at NYC's legendary Birdland.

And you can't go wrong with an album that contains the following lyric: "I'm only 38 / My woman's 93 / My friends all think I'm crazy / But the will's made out to me!"

Nice, after hearing that I now need to eat a muffalatta and have a Dixie beer. Unfortunately Dixie beer is no longer brewed in New Orleans, so I'll have to substitute with an Abita beer.

... and the doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on my bed." Sometimes the Doctor's funck reminds me of Mose Allison. Here's Mose doing one of his trademark tunes in a traditional trio; I would have shared a session with xylophone, but I only have it on vinyl.

I love Mog... it is always fun to return to tracks that I have heard in the past.  Thanks for this Funky Edition!

Hmm, red dot not operational.  I didn't know how much the Doctor hung out with Doc Pomus, but in Doc's bio (Lonely Avenue) he is prominent. A swell read. Not sure what that has to do with this tune, but I'm silly like that. have a good weekend.
