Artist:

'Faron Young' is an aggressive country rock number dedicated to the American C&W star and taken from their 2nd album, "Steve McQueen" and released in the U.S. as Two Wheels Good, due to a legal conflict with the estate of you know who. I always found their music just a little to poppy slick (George Michaels comes to mind) but I always got a kick out of this tune.
Faron Young
Antiques !
Every other sentiments an antique
As obsolete as warships in the baltic
I'm driving on a straight road it never alters
And the radio serenades but doesn't falter
You offer infrared instead of sun
You offer paper spoons and bubble gum
Late sky
Like an all night radio station
Without morning
Like stumbling on pearl harbour
Without warning
You offer infrared instead of sun
You offer bubble gum
You give me faron young four in the morning
You give me faron young four in the morning
Every mother's son's romantic
Every mother's son's frantic !
The sunset makes a fence out of the forest
But here I am with head inside the bonnet
I've lost just what it takes to be honest
You offer infrared instead of sun
You offer bubble gum
You give me faron young four in the morning
You give me faron young four in the morning
Forgive me faron young four in the morning
Forgive me faron young four in the morning

great song, thanks INF!
you bettcha
wow, borders on a rock-a-billy sound, me likes
Yup, a keeper for sure. Hey, how come the estate didn't mess with the Steve McQueen title on Sheryl Crow's release a couple of years ago?
she was willing to part with some coin :-)
She's got the coin to spend, after saving all of that cash on toilet paper.
creep shuffle. don't chew gum in the tanning booth? how much to divulge the "paper spoon" symbolism? I think, if I were in Hawaii, I'd know it. I've never listened to Faron Young or Every Mothers Son, but somehow I feel like I have now. I'm setting the alarm...
Always happy to hear the Sprout, who are often in danger of falling thru the cracks. (P.S. Not to be confused with the Green Giant's diminutive assistant.)
Cool tune. Not heard too much of them before.
"Country Rock" always made me think of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels Band, The Eageles, even......the term has evolved.
Anyway, I like this!! This song, again, while I can feel the country-nish, the lead singer could be Roddy Frame from Aztec Camera and I would not know the difference.
*Eagles* Ugh, when will I develop the patience to at least look at my comment b-4 posting it
I think you hold the MOG record for typo correcting comments. :-)
LOL!
jaggerandrea- since MOG doesn't have spell check, you can type your comment in HERE
then paste it in here after correcting spelling. You can get pretty fancey with the fonts and colors too, if you like.
Thanks! :)
