Pas mal, m'sieu. Those Floyds weren't bad songwriters when they rose above the concept album madness.
Good choice, like it much more than the original.
.....I agree with Anna, sort of. I really like this a lot, the ambience is much more melancholy....not as "wasted". But Floyd's version is still spectacular. I guess the major appeal to me is the instrumentation; a rich organic sound....real.
A nice cover, personally I prefer the original version because of the atmosphere.
while I'm not sure I can move far past the reverence of the desolate and sterile anti-emotional environment of the original, I like how this moves the "wish you were here" to a more desirable setting.

I think the harmonica is a brilliant addition to this tune and goes a long way toward giving it that melancholy feeling.
