Phosphorescent is Matthew Houck, a Brooklyn, NY based one-man indie folk/alt country band (got most of them covered there) that is often compared to Iron and Wine, Will Oldham, and Neil Young.
With Pride, Houck is back to say that he's done with modesty.
"I think it's a fucking good record, and I'm fucking proud of it," he says bluntly of his third full-length, a largely solo affair that he pieced together after his move from Athens, Georgia to New York City. "I was expecting [my previous] records to take off more than they did. I had too much confidence, actually, just thinking that putting out the record was enough. I didn't want to do very many interviews or talk about this stuff. I just wanted the record to be there and people would hear it and it would catch on. I guess I was a little naïve about how that stuff works." (ya think?)

thanks! glad u peeps like:-)
It's nice.....it has a choir-like sound (maybe because of the small choir singing in the background).
Does he play all of the instruments and do all of the singing>? That's some real talent, that there is.
Nah. he writes the music/lyrics and is essentially "The Boss" and has a revolving door of accomplices. Must be an ego thing :-)
well, he's really good--- he SHOULD be proud
