SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

Goodbye

Posted 9 months ago

Rollingstone.com named this the best album of 1997, and the Big Takeover Magazine, largely on the strength of this album, recently named Catherine Wheel as the best band of the 90's (over Radiohead).

The real tragedy, however, is that due to record company hassles, this album was never properly promoted and is now out of print in the US. While C/W went on to release another cd, the less inspired but still very good Wishville, this is an album that has few peers. It's well worth the price of an import.

"To Pull a Cody" - great addition to the vernacular

I can just envision it - key employee informs he is giving notice - "Damn, you pulling a Cody on me!"

Years from now, Cody will be part of the folklore and tales will proliferate as to who or what Cody was.

Wow, talk about leaving your mark!

Shucks Groon, I didn't realize you cared!

For me, they never topped Ferment, but yeah, a fine album by a criminally overlooked 90's band.

This album is near and dear to me ... Delicious, Broken Nose, Ma Solituda...

I didn't know it was out of print though, what a shame.

Thanks to Goodmusiconly I acquired this album today, which was the only one of theirs I didn't have. I was able to see them twice in Portland, OR(they must've LOVED the Pacific NW)back in the day & they were incredible live, they sounded so amazing. Really miss them.

So true, Earthman!  This song is great.  I will add it, as I added The Insensitive Fuck one, to my Last.FM ---and I will also see about getting more of their music

    Thanks again for the post!
