Grant Lee Buffalo was a 90's band that was pretty much a vehicle for Grant Lee Phillips, a multi instrument virtuoso and vocalist. As Grant Lee Buffalo, they released four albums: Fuzzy (1993), Mighty Joe Moon (1994), Copperopolis (1996) and Jubilee (1998).
Phillips often tackled political and social issues in his lyrics (for example, "Lone Star Song" from Mighty Joe Moon references the infamous Waco siege. They toured with major bands of the early-to-mid 1990s such as R.E.M., Pearl Jam and the Smashing Pumpkins and though they were heavily promoted through concert touring, they never escaped cult status largely thanks to a lack of support from the Warner Bros label and a frustrated Phillips disbanded the band in early 1999.

There's many Grant Lee Buffalo/Phillips fans on these boards, me included. I've yet to find a bad album of his.
I listened to some of al three songs. Have to say that they were very listenable, but nothing that I would run right out and buy.
I like them, especially Lone Star Song. The music reminds me a lot of Screaming Trees, and his voice sounds very similar to Eddie Vedder's.
Why do I always feel the need to say what or who a song or artist reminds me of??
Anyway, I remember hearing the name of this band (probably when Pearl Jam and the Screaming Trees were so huge!) but for whatever reason I never really listened before (at least I don't think).
Really good stuff!
