True, NYC Fashion week this year has been unbearably boring. Thus far, it's been filled with flowy non-descript spring dresses and B-grade stars making front row (The Hills and Gossip Girl chicks could really learn a thing or too about over-exposure. They're more omnipresent on the NYC streets than those Kanye slit glasses and "Palin = Pitbull" t-shirts.) Good thing tho, rock and roll (and parties with free alcohol) has saved the day.
My trusty Treo kicked ass with ad-hoc photos. Better than any i-phone I guarantee it. No real cameras allowed of course.
In particular, the old Jane's Addiction clan has been saucing things up late night. On Tuesday night, Perry Farrell & Dave Navarro did an ad-hoc performance at the luxe hotel den, Rose Bar. Last night, the rockers took over the old CBGBs performance space, now converted into a store for John Varvatos (for whom Perry recently modeled). It was packed to the brim with friends and friends of friends of friends.....so much so that they had installed porta-potties outside for the guests. Free alcohol tempered the heat as everyone waited patiently till after midnight for the show to start. When they finally came onstage, Perry and Etty acted frisky; there was a stripper-esque dance involved (see below) and I think Dave even smiled once. Oh and yes, they played Jane Says. And yes, everyone sung along.

Afterwards? The kooky Kooks took over the neighboring Bowery Electric, where owner Jesse Malin DJed and a guy in a unitard stripped down to way too little.
In other words, it was another infamous night in the bowels of NYC. If my head didn't hurt so god damn much, I'd elaborate but the picts probably do more justice.....Long live rock & roll.

i'll be in town for the mars volta concert on wednesday. sweet jesus i can't wait.
I have breen to a Satellite Party concert last summer and Perry and his hot momma were really fun. He did a nice encore with a bottle of red or ?? and was passing it around the front row with everyone taking a swig.. fun guy good old rock n roll style, gotta love them for that.. and his wife, not too hard on the eyes... nice shots Indie!
