What happens When You Give a Model A Mic? Agness Deyn To Perform In London This Saturday

Track:Under Pressure - (with Queen)
At this point we are well used to models converting to acting or posing as a TV spokesperson. However, it is typically more painful when models try to sing. Something about matching pitch, tone, and still smiling and strutting often proves too tough for the lanky long-limbed leopards in leotards.

BUT word is Aggy will triapse onstage at The Nokia Green Room this Saturday at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London - to perform her single "Who" with the 5 O'clock Heroes. She's going to be surrounded by some pretty impressive acts to boot : including Craig David, Gnarls Barkley and The Rascals....

Let me add that Agyness has been a long time mainstage in the musical scene. Though one of the busiest models in the world, first time I met her was at Lollapalooza last year and I've seen her consistently at the NME Awards in LA, Coachella, and backstage at shows in NYC. She's friends of friends and she's always sweet, charming, and unassuming. That said, I am curious to see her musical moxy....(what is with me and the alliterations today?)
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....

Anyone in Londontown tell me how it goes. If not, Brits will be able to see the output later this month on Channel 4 on T4 Sunday. Otherwise, I want to see video clips, folks. Post away!
Here's a taste of her sound:
Whatd'ya think?

Hmm, a charismatic clotheshorse comes across as a convincing chanteuse, cool.
(I think the alliteration is catching)
Is she a forgotten member of the Brat Pack or an extra for a John Hughes movie? Seriously, what year is it?
Sound wise, she doesn't sound bad. I will never understand people's fascination with 80's style though.
Models who sing well: Marianne Faithfull, Cheryl Ladd (solo records and the original Josie & The Pussycats!), Twiggy.
First thought in my head was "Oh God, not another one...", but watching that video I got a nice melancholic retro 1980s feel, and I cannot help but actually quite like that song!
Now I sincerely hope she will be able to this justice live, I'll be gutted if she won't.
It's a bummer my travel plans were cancelled, I would have been in London for this concert... c'est la vie.
Kudos for the awesome alliteration.
yup i am with you. i think she could be good Jo. fingers crossed.
Is there something dodgy with your fonts, Pixie? Your text seem rather small.
she's one of my least favorite models (she's so cute in life, but her couture shots always look awful). but, she just won mega-points with me for being sweet and unassuming. i didn't like her song, but again, big points for being a major music fan and even hitting Coachella (which shows integrity coz even the VIP area isn't all glamourous). thanks for adding character to what was previously a 2-dimensional figure (to me).
What happens when you give a model a mic? Well, a really skinny one might try to eat it. In this case, you get a wispy-voiced waif with some real appeal, but beyond that, I'll suspend my judgement until I hear and see more. She can't be more ineffectual than Scarlett J.
Pandering to our prurience, pixie? Please do!
I would say most of the time it is bad, but every so often one belts out a tune that is worthy of making my collection. One such record was made by Milla Jovovich with the song "The Gentleman Who Fell" I used to love this song As for the rest of the model, they should stick to Chris Issak videos
Rawkkiddo - i recently posted that same video (in light of the then-unreleased ScarJo album) and everyone went nuts over it! "Gentleman Who Fell" is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Here's the post if you want to see the thread:

Model or no model, makes no difference to me, although I'm not sure that people would be interested in this mediocre (sorry!) song if she wasn't a famous model. My first reaction is "meh", and though I really mean that, you never know :)
