Imagine this: Scene 1: Girl with ruby red cheeks, blue tights, and a flower in her curled tresses, is seated daintily in a gritty NY subway train seat, head down, scribbling in her diary. Scene 2: Boy runs into a train headed downtown in NYC and sees her sitting there. This 21 year old boy (Patrick Moberg) feels instantly, this is the girl of his dreams. What song flooded through his mind? The Mamas and Papas....'flowers in her hair....'? Who knows...Scene 3: This brief encounter was enough to spur the slightly desperate, heart-struck, young braveheart (read: Brooklyn graphic designer) to draw and post her description on a website he created (too bad he was not a mogger..woulda been easier...)along with his mobile phone number, email address and an appeal for help in finding her....(see www.nygirlofmydreams.com)
Scene 3: Amazingly, in a city of eight million people, romantic bloggers and friends alike started emailing and passing along the news. Web currents fly. Phones Ring. The Aussie chick, named Camille, who lives in Brooklyn and works for Blackbook, was found, since one of her co-workers scrolled through Gawker or other gossip blog while bored at work......we've all been there.Scene 4: (Forget the first date. It went super_). They show up on Diane Sawyer the day after their first date. Diane chuckles and asks if they believe it was fate. They nod. Commercials roll.ahhhh young love in this world of Information Technology. Now I am just waiting for a band to capitolize on the idea of a music video. How about the Darkness?ps check out nygirlofmydreams.com for his final sketch :)

Watched Diane Sawyer's interview and haven't heard anything else online about this romantic gesture until here on MOG. Don't know where the relationship goes from here but the pursuit was very edge of the seat with a happy ending just like a flick. Great choice on choosing Darkness. I had a chance to catch them on Letterman when that song came out as a single and couldn't help but smile. So over the top and so infectious.
The college DJ and his lap incident on the bus just cracks me up. If I posted that up for everytime that happened to me - I'd have a string of unsuccessful dates and possibly a restraining order or two. *lol
