Please forgive the length of this post... a lot for me to get out... appreciate those who go along for the ride :) I do not recollect, but it must have been a little over 72 hrs when I was told that I was going to the final show of the US tour... typically tickets would have been a shoein... something I decided a while ago once I started working my ass of and being able to treat myself to things... going to concerts was a given, but due to circumstances way beyond by control... I was missing tool this final time.which is fine... I would still be alive... I would still go to work the next day like any other, I would still wake up...but wait... this is tool... a band whose music has somehow affected me... and for those who believe otherwise, please get the fuck off mog... a direct impact on my life... I spent the latter part of the week trying to figure out what I could sell... how I was going to make this happen... I had given up... the move had taken over mind... and for the first time I really didn't care... I was ok with it all... at least I have a roof over my head. but it is tool... you are going to toolwhen I first heard that I was going I dismissed the possibility... but days, hours later there I was... within walking distance from my boy maynard... justin... danny...I had a vodka and redbull about 2 hours before the show, and the maximum 3 drinks(stupid kids @ a fucking gwen concert) allowed @ pnc that night... and it was just enough to bring myself back to a reality and speak to somone I consider close but distant... the person that thankfully allowed for me to see this show... the person... who has allowed for me to see any show i've been to.We were seated @ sec 103 m... what a fucking view... again maynard within walking distance... I knew the night was going to be pretty special... I've seen the band 3x this past year... but 2 of those times were under rough circumstances... and the 1st time... we were pretty far away...a pleasant surprise was moments after sitting down... I see my wife and a good friend of mine walking towards my seat (keep in mind that I was thinking all along that my wife was upset because my boss got me tickets and she wasn't going to go)... I was in complete aww... and knew that this night was mine... and it was...From the moment that Jambi played, I knew I was back and I knew where I was... on a trip to get lost for a few hours... and this time surrounded my people I love...Being a semi tool veteran (this being my 4th show..), I've realized the following... if you are getting seats close to the band... you better be going there to rock... if you are getting seats away from the band... you are going to enjoy and listen to one of the best rock bands of all time... sure you can barely hear maynards voice in some of the tracks... but you can feel the drug flowing through you... the music moving through you as a ghost of some sort...a quick visit to the bathroom just confirmed how awesome of a time even the people far away are having... they get to hear maynards voice... and for those who havent (I heard him playing for APC in the same venue)... its a blessing for your ears...in the middle of it all I kinda was wishing they played the pot... but whatever... that's life... and then came wings of marie/10,000 days... this is one of those songs... song that you listen on your ipod on your way to work... that you listen during a workout... that you listen when wasted walking down the streets of new york... this song just doesn't fail live... I thank tool for creating it... and I thank them for following up with lateralis... which was one of the songs... that brought me in... the song that started in the movie of my life... i must say... danny... and cody from big business... killed lateralis... and I mean killed in the gruesome saw 1,2,3 type of way... fucking talent...to make a LONG story short... i didn't think i was going to make it out of NJ (we missed the shuttle) that night... and that was alright... I just finished seeing tool.

  2. kat3260 says I saw 'em in Reading, PA two nights before ya. That "Lateralus" drum break was absolutely totally friggin ridiculous. Best "Lateralus" I've ever seen. There are concerts, and then there are TOOL concerts. Glad to see someone else who knows what's up!
