Here's a track from a really underrated (imho) 60's band. This is from their 1967 album, Evolution.

  1. dermahrk says You are not wrong, my friend. I recently converted the first 4 Hollies LPs to CD, then into iTunes. I've now determined that I need all of the Hollies material, at least as long as Graham Nash was with them, so I'm going to pick up Evolution and about 3 others. I have to draw the line somewhere, because dreck like "He's Not Heavy" destroyed their reputation as a great, great pop band. So I figure Graham Nash will be my dividing line. Do you disagree?

  2. icecreamskydream says Awesome another Hollies fan! :) So then you're drawing the line at 1969's Hollies Sing Hollies, which I believe is the last one they did with Grahm Nash. I think some of their 70's stuff is good, but it's spotty, only good in places. Confessions Of The Mind is a pretty good album. By the way, I have all the 60's Hollies stuff on my iTunes already, let me know if you want me to send you anything. Cheers

  3. dermahrk says Well, I love the harmonies and guitars on their early stuff but, since my Hollies collection stopped at Bus Stop (US releases - I know the UK stuff was different), I'm unsure how long that sound persists. I assume that the loss of Graham destroyed the harmonies but I will probably have to feel my way through the later releases. There are plenty of Hollies compilations but no definitive box set for the early stuff, which is a shame. So I'll just have to accumulate their stuff CD by CD - just won "Stop Stop Stop" on eBay in vinyl, since it apparently has never had a CD release that is easily available. I know there is at LEAST one more Hollies fan on MOG, probably more - we just have to scare them out of the woodpile.
