does anybody know what song this is?

appended to this post is a self-recorded reproduction (i.e. i am performing it) of the only fragment of this song that i remember. the first time i heard it was in 2004 or 2005, and i know that it's by some alternative/indie band or artist with a female vocalist. if anybody knows i'll be forever indebted; it's been bothering me for years now. i wish i could give you more, but that's all i heard.

I get the impression that music, for them, is a labor of love, in the name of creating beautiful sounds - beauty. How incredible are the people that make it their life's work to share the beauty that is their music? When music is a...

that i listen to most of my music on my ipod, and the stupid software, which took up 8 gb of my hard drive, is not capturing what i play on my ipod. so that's why i don't listen to very much.
