Intelligent HIp Hop

Posted over 5 years ago
Okay, I'm a good 5 years behind the curve here, but in a state of desperate boredom with every album we own, and even every genre, I'm trying to explore new "types" of music. But I'm a hideous snob, totally require music to be intelligent both musically and lyrically. Someone (very wise) suggested that I give the Andre 3000 album, The Love Below, a try.... and I'm hooked. I think it's brilliant - BRILLIANT! It manipulates and expands all sorts of musical genres, is thoughtful, intelligent, funny, engaging and everything else. Yes, Hey Yah is great..... but it is, in many ways, the least that the album has to offer..... (But is, for sure, the catchiest single in an album that should be listened to as an album!) SO - what else should I try?
