Deep is the wood, and dark

Wow.OK, so it's been a goodly number of months since I've been on Mog and posted anything, or read anything, or listened to anything. I must say that the new (to me) design of the site takes some getting used to (I miss my Mogos!), but I'm starting to dig it.That, and despite the fact that I haven't logged on in at least four or five months, my Mog status is still blazing! Woot!OK, so for those of you who care, here's where I've been:-I work in the film & tv industry here in Orlando and was fortunate enough to have worked almost nonstop from last November up until last month. Recently, things have dried up. A Lot.-I have hence decided I need a career with a little more stability and that will allow me to leave the stinking state of FL (no offense to those of you who live, and like it, here) and set my feet on the road to Denver. For anyone who lives in Denver, I would most welcome any reasons why I should move there immediately. Tell me how cool your city is. Or, on the flipside, spare me a lot of unnecessary heartache and tell me why I should move to Wichita instead.-None of you care about any of this, and this is not what I came to tell you about anyhow. Here's what I've been grooving on these past months:Modest Mouse - _We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank_. I dig this album. I was a little scared when I heard the first single off the album, but my fears were laid to rest when I gave the disc a spin.Arcade Fire - _Neon Bible_. Exceptional record. I really, really love this album.Kings of Leon - _Because of the Times_. Great record. I've been into this band since the first album, and they just keep improving.Silversun Pickups - _Carnavas_ and the _Pikul_ EP. Almost saw them open for Snow Patrol, but got there too late to see their set. I was really bummed about that because I really like this band a lot. I picked up the EP at the merch table.Nine Inch Nails - _Year Zero_. I'm having a bit of trouble connecting with this album. I think, based on the brilliant publicity campaign, I hyped the album up too much for myself. Having said that, it's still a great album and way better than _The Fragile_ or _With Teeth_, in my humble opinion.Ryan Adams - _Easy Tiger_. I've been a fan since Heartbreaker, and he is notoriously uneven in the quality of his albums. This has been called by some the record his fans have been waiting for since _Heartbreaker_. I wouldn't go that far, but it is his strongest album in a long time.Amy Winehouse - _Back to Black_. Ok, ok, I know. What can I say? The woman's got a hell of a voice. Deal.So that about wraps it up. Saw some good shows (Arctic Monkeys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Snow Patrol, Flaming Lips) and drank a lot of beer. Had a very interesting experience with mushrooms, too. Other than that, my life is pretty boring.Hello to Moggers I haven't talked to yet, and those I have.Ok,Holyfool

  2. mktackabery says welcome back, can't do anything about Denver. I just had a good friend move from there because he was sick of the concrete, so I guess if you are into that, good luck. :)

  3. chucky says Hey! It's good to see you. I didn't go anywhere and I *still* miss the mogos, if that helps at all..haha. I don't know anything about Denver. I just moved to NC and, I have to say, it's damn lovely here. Just a thought.
