Blake/e/e/e - Fall 2008 Update

There's a lot of catching up to do here, regarding the band Blake/e/e/e.

Their album "Border Radio" was released on May 08 by FreeFolk Records, a tiny Indiana based label. The band embarked on a six-weeks long U.S. tour.

Right after, core members Paolo and Marcella went back to Italy to ink a deal with Unhip records, a bigger Indie based out of Bologna. The album has just been released (October 10th) in Italy, and will be released in most of the European Territory on February 09.

The band current line-up is now fully Italian. Paolo and Marcella are joined by Egle Sommacal (at most of the guitars and some keyb) and Mattia Boscolo at drums/percussions.

Blake/e/e/e is currently touring Italy, with recent successful feature at M.E.I. 08. Press praise is general. Their live shows are amazingingly complex and at same time fluid and hypnotic.

A European tour has been scheduled around February/March 2009. In the meanwhile the band has been invited to the SXSW 09 Edition, taking place in Austin TX, mid-March 09.

It's a shame that most of the American press hasn't come across this album. An Italian journalist thinks it would be a "nine stars on Pitchfork".
