I live in a very ugly 1950's suburban america house. while there isn't much i can do about the outside (the house isn't mine, and besides, i don't have the money to hire labor for painting and landscaping.), i'm trying, with my limited budget and time, to break the house of it's disgusting asthetics. Picture, if you can stand the horror, those old cheap wood paneled walls. Thankfully, mine are not the usual orange and dark knots paneling, but a deep walnut with a faint grain. I'm terrified to attempt painting these things, so instead, i'm going to hang things on them. My sick little mind doesn't like any of the so called "art" available at places like hobby lobby or those giant discount home decor places. I also don't like posters, they feel a little to college dorm for me. I've been lucky enough to have a few friends give me some small paintings they have created, but I need more. So I decided that hanging my records would solve my problem. I did some on line hunting and found there were many options for hanging albums as art. I have it narrowed down to two choices, http://www.rockartpictureshow.com/ and http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/ . Does anyone have any experience or recommendations? A web review of rockart said the frames weren't that good looking, and I like that I can chose my frame color from urban outfitters. I plan to put about four albums up on one particular wall which needs a good size piece of something on it. Once this mission is accomplished, perhaps I can figure out what to do about the nasty beige carpet. It looks like I've been having punk shows in my living room. eeeew.

oooh fake wood paneling is rough. too many people just let it go. and the poster thing is also a valid point. it's waaay college dorm. i'm working on getting stuff up on my walls in my bedroom which i just moved into. so far, just one painting, also from a friend. maybe IKEA can help?

i'm scared of ikea. ended up finding these "scrapbook" frames for soccer mom's for cheap at a craft store. (i do not understand the scrapbooking fetish) they also work as vinyl frames. i just glare at the wood paneling and will it to not be. not going so well.

I call bullshit: You’ve never danced, er make that twirled, around your room to a cure song. Luckily for me, today was not a cure kinda day..... And I issue a challenge, because I’m argumentative. There are some days it’s best for me to sing way too loudly to a song like “What’s up”. Ms. Perry, you are at fault for a wonderful guilty pleasure. It’s much more cathartic if you actually frighten other drivers into laughing at you and don’t stop singing. so, what song did you get to music-geek crack out on?

good question...sometimes stupid 90s songs that were hits once. why am i drawing such a blank? when you say crack out on though i think of going wild, wild and for me nothing is quite as wild as outkast's "b.o.b." that song's got it all! so i guess that's my answer.
