What is it about songs?

Posted over 5 years ago
Two posts within a matter of minutes must clearly mean I am procrastinating on studying. Isn't that the life of any college student? I recently went through a break-up, and for some reason I can't help but listen to Joe Purdy's "The City" over and over again as some kind of healing device even though the person who sent me the song is the person I was dating. Maybe it's a lot of things, maybe it's the imagery he paints with his voice of things moving on, of life continuing, that forces me out of wanting to wallow. The idea of seeing someone and knowing that they still look exactly the same, but you, you just keep on going. The city does keep on going. Or maybe it's just that type of song that I'd want to be in the soundtrack of my movie someday.

  3. SWozniak says You share a last name with Natalie Portman. You probably know that, but it caught me eye. And my song is Diouf's "Mane." Over and over.
