Purists or traditionalists probably have little patience with the Nu Brazil or Nu Bossa movement, but since I'm neither, I've really been diggin' this newer Brazilian stuff. And one of the most adventurous of the new wave of female singers is CeU.On this, her 2nd album, you'll hear many influences come into play including electronica, dub, reggae, soul and R&B that result in a very modern sound.Call it world music if you must, but this innovative set is definitely Brazilian at heart.

This was quite a nice listen. I especially enjoyed Bubuia and Sonambulo.
Thanks for sharing.

Suppose I could be considered a fuddy-duddy when it comes to Brazilian. Often the stuff that has come out in the wake of BossaCucaNova and the Suba album isn't a whole lot more than the sum of its stylistic tics. But this really sounds fresh, and I do love her voice. More important, she really is breaking sonic ground without being self-important about it....
Great rec brad. It sounded pretty traditional on that first track and then! I'm diggin' the dub-i-ness.
Thanks for this one.
