Favorite Love Songs

The other day I was talking to my boyfriend about my favorite love songs. I decided that I tend to like simple love songs that are too the point. My favorite, which happens to be many people's favorite I learned, is "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. But "Your Song" is a close second, and really might be even, I'm not sure. This is the first Elton John song I remember hearing as a small child, and I have always loved it.

Andrea, what exactly do you mean by "love songs"? Songs in general that are about love?
Well, it's four months until Valentine's Day, but those are two exquisite choices. Here's "God Only Knows", for the uninitiated.
I have fond AM radio memories of both, for sure, but as a child of the 80's I need to represent:
Nice picks, Dale! My problem is that almost all the music I fancy is about love and relationships and I have to somehow narrow it down. I'm guessing that everybody picks the genre as he/she wishes then. I'll have to give it some thought.
Tis' a plethora of songs regarding love and I wouldn't know where to start. There's also songs about love that's lost, although I enjoy the pick me up songs listed above just as much if not more.
This is one of my favorites:
"It's a little bit funny..." Elton and Bernie were right about that. Love. What a mystery. That said, the first song that came to mind was Sting's "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You," which was in fact "our song" when I was with my significant other in the late '90s. It's been tough to enjoy since she and I parted ways, but that's the way the nookie crumbles.
