WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Maybe it was because of the hockey

After hearing "Runaway Train" for the eleventieth million time, I was ready to be done with Soul Asylum. But, I have always loved this song. I think the song is great, but I have a feeling the only reason I really listened to it in the first place was from seeing the video on MTV, and it involved hockey. No matter, I love this song.

  2. Augusts1 says I remember seeing this back in the day on MTV. Love that Jay & Silent Bob are lip- synching the song, tff! Soul Asylum are such a majorly underappreciated band. It's surprising they weren't more popular. I have a few of their cds too. Thanks for posting this Andrea.

  4. Eric5776 says Talk about nostalgia! Grave Diggers Union (was that the title?) was played to death for me. "Black Gold", "Somebody To Shove", "Runnaway Train" - they were all great. I liked the song "Sun Maid" too. During that time, I searched high and low for their other material but I don't really remember succeeding in that category (in terms of finding stuff that matched GDU). I will admit, "Sometime To Return" is a great older song. I found it off the Nevermind the Mainstream MTV 120 Minutes Volume 1 comp. I do love Clerks and thought they added a great song to the soundtrack also. Another great Soul Asylum song is "String of Pearls." It's just a fantastic full circle story. "Misery" was an utter disappointment, though.
