One guy who was in critical condition is now expected to survive.Poor fucker. I am tempted to make a joke about being crushed by a throng of Tool-loving goths, but it would probably be in poor taste considering that the guy was actually nearly killed.
It's taken a while, but I finally got around to acquiring/listening to Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. (Thanks Lala.com!) I think I was burned out on Bright Eyes when it was first released, so I passed on it and the accompanying I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning, which I now regret doing.I really like this album, which is chock full of Conor Oberst's accomplished songwriting and really is not (quite) as
Did anybody else see the movie The Proposition? It was written by Nick Cave, and he also provided the soundtrack for it. The music set the perfect mood: a moaning poetry drummed up by horses' hooves and the heat of a sunset before a storm breaks, and a beautiful, brutal wild aussie west where your brother might shoot you in the gut.The lyrics to "The Rider Song" drift in and out of the movie as

However, at any distance greater than ten feet all pictures of a band on stage tend to look the same, so I guess it doesn't matter. The show was great. I realize that I like OK Computer and earlier songs a lot better live than the Kid A/Amne
I wish that back when I was listening to Iron Maiden furiously that I had purchased an Iron Maiden shirt. Then I would be able to wear that shirt now, since it is now what the smug coolier-than-thou people wear. But I didn't. And now it's too late. I can't go out and buy one, or even ebay one, without feeling like a trendy fuck. I can only glare at them, wearing my home-made BoC shirt.
